For a few years now, a tide of entirely new music has swept across Mediterranean countries, a tide that has caught their culture and youth irreversibly.
Driven by such artists as Yung Beef in Spain, Sfera Ebbasta in Italy, Shayfeen in Morocco or Kareem Kalokoh in Greece, trap music triumphs everywhere and holds full sway over fashion, art and society.
NAAR, a collective committed to expanding the outreach of artists of the South, and PRESSURE CLOTHES, a pioneering brand in Mediterranean urban culture, have organized an unprecedented showcase in Paris last November 3rd, that gathered Shayfeen and Kareem Kalokoh. This night was the occasion to both celebrate the Mediterranean urban culture and to assess the long road ahead towards equal opportunities in the Mediterranean basin. There is in fact still a strong administrative pressure on artists of the South (as a matter of fact one of the artists that was to perform that night was denied his visa) and a persistent lack of consideration towards immigrant populations in some countries.
As part of this event, PRESSURE & NAAR have decided to make an original tshirt that celebrates the Mediterranean trap culture, while making this call: “Invest In People”. All proceeds will go to the branch of the ATMF that takes care of underage immigrants in the Goutte d’Or neighborhood in Paris.
